Still Awaiting Final Word on Reaper
OMG.
Tom Petty is a wise man. The waiting is, indeed, the hardest part.
We still don’t know whether Reaper will continue to live on.

Our friend Nick C. is reporting that Reaper is coming back for a third season. It is a good day.
I’m heading offline for few hours, so I’m going to ask that you check back at Nick C.’s blog and Twitter account for the latest.
Reaper-verse, help a boy out. Create a cool, Save Reaper-themed background and give it to him, stat.
Nick C. has an interesting post with some behind-the-scenes info about Reaper.
The CW has officially cancelled Reaper, but ABC is still expressing interest in continuing it as a syndicated show.
If you want to help save the show, ReaderDMV.com has all the details you need. Because the network has already made its decision, you’ll want to use the link to find your local CW station and let them know you would like to see Reaper in syndication on that channel.
I don’t know what happened in the past 24 hours, but it completely improved my outlook on next week’s upfronts, when the major TV networks (and The CW <cue rim shot>) unveil their fall line-ups.
Perhaps it was the news that Reaper may become a syndicated Sunday show. Or perhaps it was the awesome finale of Supernatural last night. Or the news that Party Down was picked up for a second season. I don’t know, but I like it.
Anyway, here’s a link to the schedule for the upfronts. We only have a few short days before NBC confirms that Chuck will be back.
[digg=http://digg.com/celebrity/What_Is_Up_with_Justin_Timberlake]What is it about Justin Timberlake that is so appealing? He is attractive, but completely non-threatening. And he has the Midas Touch. He can seemingly do no wrong. It’s as if he sold his soul to the devil after that whole Janet Jackson thing, because everything has gone his way ever since. Hmm, maybe he could guest as an escaped soul on Reaper. People would watch the show then.
(What brought about this rhapsodizing about the glory that is JT? I saw an ad for his appearance on some late night talk show last night, and I actually considered staying up late to watch it. I haven’t stayed up late to watch Leno, Letterman, Conan, or anyone else for at least five years.)
[digg=http://digg.com/television/What_Does_the_Future_Hold_for_Reaper]The Hollywood Reporter announced last week that Reaper was done-zo. But last night, Reaper scored a 19% increase in ratings, up to 2.45 million. Of course, it lost to According to Jim, which I didn’t even know was still on.
Tyler Labine was listed one of the Zap2It’s hot new fall faces, with his gig on the pilot Sons of Tucson. And we’ve all heard that the creators jumped ship to a deal with Fox. After the disappointments of the last few episodes (boring, much?), I think new heads at the helm wouldn’t be a bad idea–and less Sock, definitely a good idea right now.
I’m trying to be hopeful, but things aren’t looking that good. What do you think? Will that bump in numbers be enough to convince the CW that Reaper needs a season 3? Should it?
I love Reaper. It makes me very unhappy to hear the rumors of its impending cancellation. Instead, I choose to live in world where TV by the Numbers is right. Here, Reaper has a chance. Who will join me?
I love tweeting through an episode of a show I like. It was totally fun for Chuck, so I want to do it for a few other choice shows: Reaper and Supernatural. Who’s in?
Reaper has a hashtag already #Reaper. Let’s use it. I’m on the west coast. Do we have any takers to coordinate the east coast?
Does Supernatural have a hashtag? If not, we need to come up with one #supernatural is long, but it works.
