No Reason for Me to Watch DWTS Now

Thanks to America for taking away the one thing that had almost lured me in to Dancing with the Stars this season: Belinda Carlisle.

The Go-Gos are one of the first bands I liked. My parents listened to country music, but when I was about 7 or 8, I decided it was time for me to start listening to my own music So I found a pop station on the radio–93.1 KSND, which I believe is now a country station. I also started watching music videos on tv Friday and Saturday nights. MTV came a few months after I turned 8, and I started watching it from day 1. The videos I remember from these pre-MTV days are Jessie’s Girl, something by The Cars, and Our Lips Are Sealed. I still like Rick Springfield, The Cars, and The Go-Gos.

I really had to think about whether I would follow Belinda Carlisle on DWTS this season out of my continuing love for her band. I certianly wouldn’t watch the show live, as it comes on opposite Chuck. But there was a slim chance that I might have had a moment of weakness over the weekend and watched it online.

I thank America for saving me from the horror.

Dancing with the Stars Is Dangerous

Two down, 11 remain, two more in question.

Jackass star Steve-O has injured his back and isn’t sure he will be able to complete his salsa routine on the inexplicably popular dance show.

And Steve Wozniak has fractured his foot.

Is an injection of adrenaline into a sagging career really worth the danger?

Monday Poll Results

So, my friends and readers are not so much into the reality television.

  • Chuck was the big winner on our poll, with 24% of the vote.
  • How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory tied for second, with 18%.
  • Everything else tied for third place, with 12%: Heroes, House and Gossip Girl.
  • 24 brought up the rear, with 6%.
  • None of my readers watch Dancing with the Stars. That makes me happy.

So, did you enjoy the poll? Do you want to see more polls in the future?
