Can Supernatural Top the Apocalypse?
We just got the news that Supernatural will be back for a sixth season. But, how can they top the dominant storyline of this year: the coming Apocalypse?
I will continue to watch the show, but I fear that it will limp into a slow death spiral rather than going out when it is on top.
How do you feel about it? And do you think the devil will continue to try to use Sam as his meatsuit in new and exciting ways? Or will the idea of Winchester versus Winchester fade out as the boys prevent the devil from new and different ways of taking over the world?
Edited to add: Here’s a link to a story that discusses the showrunners’ plans for the sixth season.

I have such mixed feelings about the return of Supernatural for another season. My inner fangirl is squealing and going, “Yay! More Dean!” However, IMO, this announcement detracts from this detracts from Season 5 – it takes away any sense of urgency because we know both boys will be back for next season, especially since they’re talking about exploring the brothers’ relationship.
I will, of course, be watching, but I have some grave concerns. I’ll leave it at that.
