100 Questions

I’m stealing these questions from The Fictionistas. I decided to go ahead and give my own answers, though.

  1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
    Closed most of the time.
  2. Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
    If they are Aveda, like the ones they offer at the W Hotel.
  3. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
    Tucked on the bottom, but only on my half of the bed. My husband prefers not to even have a sheet, just a comforter, so the sheet is only on my side.
  4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
    No, but I’ve thought about it.
  5. Do you like to use post-it notes?
    In all sizes, shapes, and colors!
  6. Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
    Yes, but I’m getting better. Coupons really save a lot of money, so it is worth the effort.
  7. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees?
    Bees. I feel like I would survive a bee attack with few long-lasting effects. A bear attack? Not so much.
  8. Do you have freckles?
    Yes, but I used to have more.
  9. Do you always smile for pictures?
    Yes.
  10. What is your biggest pet peeve?
    I’m not sure I can narrow it down. It depends on what is pissing me off this week.
  11. Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
    Yes, mainly on the stairs when I’m carrying laundry or something that makes it hard to see if I’m at the bottom yet. Of course, this habit did not stop me from spraining my ankle last Monday.
  12. Have you ever peed in the woods?
    Yes.
  13. What about pooped in the woods?
    No. I’d rather hold it until I get to a real bathroom than have to carry it out in a baggie.
  14. Do you ever dance even if there’s no music playing?
    Sometimes.
  15. Do you chew your pens and pencils?
    Not since I was in middle school.
  16. How many people have you slept with this week?
    Just one, but the week is still young. (Just kidding. I wouldn’t want my husband to get the wrong idea.)
  17. What size is your bed?
    Queen.
  18. What is your song of the week?
    I don’t have a song of the week.
  19. Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
    Yes, but only if it flatters their skin tone.
  20. Do you still watch cartoons?
    No.
  21. What’s your least favorite movie?
    The Road Warrior and its ilk. I cannot stand stupid post-Apocalyptic boy movies.
  22. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
    Somewhere you’d never find it.
  23. What do you drink with dinner?
    Water, if anything.
  24. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
    Honey
  25. What is your favorite food?
    Pizza.
  26. What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
    I don’t really have movies that I could watch over and over, but I’m pretty sure that if it is possible to wear out DVDs, I will wear out my Friends DVDs.
  27. Last person you kissed/kissed you?
    My husband.
  28. Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
    Nope. I was in Camp Fire. It didn’t discriminate based on gender.
  29. Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine?
    Negatory.
  30. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
    A month or so ago at my day job.
  31. Can you change the oil on a car?
    If I had to, but I’m pretty sure that’s why I married an auto technician.
  32. Ever gotten a speeding ticket?
    Yes.
  33. Ran out of gas?
    No.
  34. Favorite kind of sandwich?
    Falafel.
  35. Best thing to eat for breakfast?
    Eggs and toast.
  36. What is your usual bedtime?
    10-11 p.m.
  37. Are you lazy?
    Yup.
  38. When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
    A cheerleader, Bianca from The Rescuers, a punk. Madonna was probably my favorite.
  39. What is your Chinese astrological sign?
    Ox?
  40. How many languages can you speak?
    One, plus some swear words in a few others.
  41. Do you have any magazine subscriptions?
    Writer’s Digest, The Writer, Self
  42. Which are better legos or lincoln logs?
    Legos.
  43. Are you stubborn?
    Um, yeah.
  44. Who is better…Leno or Letterman?
    Letterman, by far.
  45. Ever watch soap operas?
    Until college. One of my earliest memories is my mom feeding me while the opening credits to Days of Our Lives played. “Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives…”
  46. Afraid of heights?
    No, but I am afraid of falling.
  47. Sing in the car?
    All the time. My current sing-along obsession is Skid Row.
  48. Dance in the shower?
    No.
  49. Dance in the car?
    Yes.
  50. Ever used a gun?
    Yes.
  51. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
    I was going to say 1990 when I had my senior photos done, but then I saw my wedding portrait on my wall. So 2006.
  52. Do you think musicals are cheesy?
    Yes. I dislike musicals. Grease and Footloose are exceptions to that, as is Glee.
  53. Is Christmas stressful?
    Yes!
  54. Ever eat a pierogi?
    Yes, and I wasn’t impressed.
  55. Favorite type of fruit pie?
    Cherry. (Once a Twin Peaks fan, always a Twin Peaks fan.)
  56. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
    Singer, gymnast, veterinarian
  57. Do you believe in ghosts?
    Yes.
  58. Ever have a deja-vu feeling?
    Yes.
  59. Take a vitamin daily?
    Yes.
  60. Wear slippers?
    Yes. I hate going barefoot, so I pull a total Mr. Rogers when I walk in. I slip off my outside shoes and slip right into my houseshoes.
  61. Wear a bath robe?
    I did until my dog ripped it to shreds. Now, I just wear my pajamas until I’m ready to get dressed.
  62. What do you wear to bed?
    T-shirt and workout pants.
  63. First concert?
    I don’t count all of the concerts at the county fair, even though I did see some big names at the time. Nope, I count The Bangles, who I saw at the Hult Center not long before they broke up. That was awesome! (Not the breaking up part, but the fact that I did get to see them.)
  64. Wal-Mart, Target or Kmart?
    Target, by far.
  65. Nike or Adidas?
    Nike for flip-flops and performance clothes. Adidas for performance clothes. For shoes? Asics and Brooks.
  66. Cheetos Or Fritos?
    Cheetos.
  67. Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
    Both, mixed with pecans, cashews, brazil nuts, an d pumpkin seeds. (This makes me hungry.)
  68. Ever hear of the group Tres Bien?
    Nope.
  69. Ever take dance lessons?
    No, unless you count the two weeks of folk dancing we had to do in ninth-grade PE. Those two weeks are why I transferred to a high school where only one year of PE was required.
  70. Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
    I have a present spouse, and he fixes cars.
  71. Can you curl your tongue?
    Yes.
  72. Ever won a spelling bee?
    In the classroom, but never at the county level. I did however, go to the county mental math competition and county science fair. Not sure how I ended up with writing. I guess my Ophelia was never revived.
  73. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
    Yes. And I have the wedding video to prove it. I cried during the entire ceremony.
  74. Own any record albums?
    Yes, I still have a few: Slippery When Wet, Out of the Blue, Madonna, the Cult album that has “Fire Woman” and “Edie”, and If You See Kay by the Stand (say it out loud, and it is so funny to a 15-year-old girl).
  75. Own a record player?
    Yes, but I haven’t hooked it up in at least three years.
  76. Regularly burn incense?
    No, but I used to.
  77. Ever been in love?
    Yes. Otherwise, marriage would SUCK.
  78. Who would you like to see in concert?
    All-American Rejects, Better Than Ezra and Chris Isaak again (it’s been awhile for both). There are probably others, but I can’t think of them right now.
  79. What was the last concert you saw?
    Tori Amos.
  80. Hot tea or cold tea?
    Both.
  81. Tea or coffee?
    Both.
  82. Sugar or snickerdoodles?
    Snickerdoodles, if I have to choose. Really, I prefer oatmeal raisin or peanut butter milk chocolate chip.
  83. Can you swim well?
    I used to be able to, but I quit putting my face in the water when I got contacts. That really hampers the crawl. But I can get across the pool, even without doing a formal stroke.
  84. Can you hold your breath without holding your nose?
    Yes, but I don’t really have much call for that skill. Breathing is a pretty good thing to do all the time.
  85. Are you patient?
    No.
  86. DJ or band, at a wedding?
    A DJ would be my preference, but we had neither. We went to Vegas.
  87. Ever won a contest?
    Yes. The best one was the free trip to San Francisco.
  88. Ever have plastic surgery?
    Yes. I cut my eyebrow open when I was two, and the on-call surgeon was a plastic surgeon. So I have no scar, just a tiny spot where the hair doesn’t grow in my eyebrow.
  89. Which are better black or green olives?
    All olives are good olives, but kalamata is my favorite. Especially in an olive and sun-dried tomato tapenade spread on crusty bread. (Again, I’m getting hungry.)
  90. Can you knit or crochet?
    No. I’m too impatient. I have the most uneven stitches when I knit, and I can only knit in one direction. I probably could crochet, but I haven’t tried since I was a little girl.
  91. Best room for a fireplace?
    Bedroom.
  92. Do you want to get married?
    Boy, my husband hopes my answer is yes. An it is.
  93. If married, how long have you been married?
    Three years.
  94. Who was your HS crush?
    I had a lot. But I mostly set my sights on celebs. I wanted to marry Bret Michaels. So glad that didn’t come to fruition. Although, if I had been involved, the manstensions would be outta there.
  95. Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way?
    Not since I was a kid. It worked pretty well on my parents.
  96. Do you have kids?
    Just one on the way.
  97. Do you want kids?
    The one on the way sure hops so.
  98. What’s your favorite color?
    Blue, black, turquoise, purple. I guess I can’t narrow it down. But I don’t like orange.
  99. Do you miss anyone right now?
    No.
  100. Did you watch, Next Great American Band on FOX?
    No. I don’t watch reality TV.
