I’ll Be Watching Southland on TNT. Will You?
I am glad that TNT picked up the already taped episodes of Southland. I like the 10 p.m. time slot on Tuesdays for that show.
I have an Eastern feed of TNT, so I’ll be catching it at 7 p.m. Or, if they do a replay scenario like they did with Leverage and Dark Blue over the summer, I might be watching it at 9 p.m. and finally giving up on the travesty that is Melrose Place. (That would be awesome!)
I missed most of the episodes that aired last season, so I’m going to go ahead and watch the entire 13-episode run. Will you be watching them, or will you be waiting until the new episodes air?
I hope that TNT sees the show as a success and picks it up for additional seasons after these episodes air. What do you think will be the metrics for success? Will it have higher or lower ratings expectations because TNT didn’t have to pay the entire production costs?

I’ll be watching all of the Southland eps. I thought it was an excellent cop show with all of the characters being well written and many of them having unexpected depths to them. I also thought the show runners did a really good job of casting.

And, if it gets similar numbers to what it got on NBC, it’ll be considered a great success on TNT. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if it does get good numbers.
