Should Nelson Have Cut Their Hair in the 80s?

I was listening to “Love and Affection” by Nelson while driving the other day, and I was amazed at how much I love that song.

Back in the day, I liked it, but I would never have admitted that in public because Nelson was so not cool. They were one step below Winger on the pop metal scale of cool. Not even the loser kid on Beavis & Butthead would have worn a Nelson shirt.

I was wondering whether they would have been taken more seriously if they hadn’t gone the pop metal route and just styled themselves a straight-up pop band. If they had cut their hair and worn less flowing clothing.

What do you think?

Got a pic of their new haircuts?

I probably think they should have left them long…

I’m okay with their short hair. The long blond hair was just too much, even back in 1989.

That made me laugh out loud. You wouldn’t admit when they were on the radio that you liked them but will now. Is it because you’re around age 30? My hubby is a hipster cool music fan and I usually follow along but F’it. I LOVE KELLY CLARKSON, lol, I dragged him to her show in Indy friday night. He was sweet about it but I know it was torture. :)

Yup. Now that I’m firmly ensconced in my 30s, I no longer care if people think I’m cool. Kelly Clarkson is fun, BTW, andf your husband was very good to take you to see her.
