Making Peace

I entered into a very zen state of mind this morning.

I have had a love-hate relationship with two things in my life: the Twilight series and Cosmo Radio.

Since hearing the story behind Twilight, I will admit I became somewhat jealous. Stephenie Meyer had a dream that turned into a multi-million dollar franchise that no one can escape. The books have a compelling story, but don’t include the best writing or the most appropriate messages for young girls. And it all happened so fast for her.

But I’m over it. Maybe her higher power was looking out for her and gave her an amazing opportunity to provide for her family. Good for her.

And I have spent many a morning and early afternoon getting absolutely livid at Cosmo Radio (Wake Up with Taylor and Cosmolicious are the prime offenders). The girls are overly worried about other people’s weight, and they say ridiculously un-feminist things. I swear, Diana is constantly reading from The Rules. But I’m done getting angry. Its a waste of my time and energy. If I don’t like it, I can change the channel.

What things have been driving you crazy? Can you let them go?

One of the Jonas Brothers (Kevin, for those of you who can tell them apart) is reportedly engaged. This is the big problem with purity pledges: kids get married just so they can have sex.

I say, have sex if you want to have sex, date multiple people to figure out what personality traits work with yours, then decide who to settle down with when you are in your late 20s or early 30s.
