lol, jen, lol. that's all you can do really... as much as I hate to admit it, tptb don't seem to pay too much attention to our blogs, tweets, etc. Although, they are giving chuck as season 3 so maybe it's not as bad as I think. No, it is. The idiots at the CW picked up The Beautiful Life over The Body Politic. I miss Jason Dohring - he needs to be on tv.

It's all just like high school. It's a big popularity contest, and the politicking that people do often counts for more than the quality of the candidates. OK. I'm officially done with zen--I'm back to full-on curmudgeonness. Damn you, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences!

Jen, maybe that's the problem with Chuck - all of their efforts seem to be dedicated to 30 Rock...

That does make sense but it's still really frustrating that Chuck was basically forgotten and that FNL didn't get more attention. Both of those shows are so good it's just painful not to see them receive little to no acknowledgment for it.

But, that's the way the Emmys tend to work, unfortunately.

I just thought of another reason why the Emmy folks would make this strange choice: People are only eligible to vote for their areas of expertise. So the casting folks are amazed at how well the cast of FNL works. And the actors are amazed by all of the people they nominated. It makes sense when you look at it from that perspective, even though it is a stupid oversight. At least FNL got some love.

I am still in my zen place, so I am at peace with the fact that genre shows have no home in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. My hope is that Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette) have other jobs that get them the recognition they so well deserve.

There is no excuse for Chuck, though. It is on a network that the Emmys love; I guess the geek factor is too much for the voters.

I don't understand how they can nominate FNL for a casting emmy and then not nominate a single member of the cast... Maybe they're just too good to pick one out ahead of the others, lol. I know it's completely ridiculous but I feel like my friends have been slighted...
And Supernatural... Okay, it's a little on the fringe as far as show popularity goes. But those boys can ACT.

Chuck... why no emmy love for Chuck? again, fantastic cast, great writing, what's the problem?

True Blood - at least Lafayette (forget his name) should be nominated...
