No End to Cougar Mania

Aargh. I posted a while back about how much I hate the term “cougar.” It grosses me out.

Yet, the media continues its love affair with all things cougar.

They are getting ready to shoot the Cougar Town pilot.

And the other day on Cosmo radio (which I can’t stop listening to even though it drives me absolutely batsh@t crazy) they read a little blurb about the new Cher/Johnny Knoxville vehicle, The Drop Out.

Knoxville will star as Cher’s love interest, though it appears he will just be using her because he gets kicked out of his parents’ house and needs a place to crash. Ew on so many levels.

Even mainstream “news” outlets are jumping on the cougar love train, as the San Francisco Chronicle included Cougars: Unyoung Women on the Prowl in their Sunday edition last week.

Am I being completely unreasonable? Am I giving a simple term too much power in my life? Should I jump on the cougar-loving bandwagon, dump the hubby, and chronicle my new life avoiding statutory rape charges?

Be the first to like.
