Oregon Is Weird

There are times I am a little embarrassed by my home state. Tonya Harding and Bob Packwood are good examples of the things that embarrass me.

Most of the rest of it I like. I like that we typically vote for progressive and fair laws. I like that we have elected to protect our greenspaces so much. I like that we relish in our quirks.

But I don’t know what to make of the pregnant man. It seems strange to feel that you are a man and go through a sexual reassignment process, but engage in the utterly female process of pregnancy. I guess I should just shrug and say, “Only in Oregon…”
