This is the last new episode of the second season, and from what I hear, tonight’s ratings will be the prime determinant in whether this great show is renewed for a third season. It has so much going for it–stellar leads in the most realistic marriage on tv (Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton), wonderful teenage characters who show depth and range, and engrossing stories and character arcs that tackle hot issues such as racism, the influence of money on athletics at all levels, and love. It has dramatic character moments that appeal to those who like a little soap in their dramas. It has quick camera shots that appeal to those with a little ADHD. It has football. There is nothing to lose and a lot to win by giving this show one hour of your Friday night.
